What Did I Eat?

What Did I Eat? infographic

Over Thanksgiving weekend I was home with just my old laptop, so I decided to clean up this poster I made in school for Information Design class. I had to document everything I ate and drank and come up with a creative and informative way to represent that information. Check out more details here.

Global Groceries redesign Part 2: Color

10/23/2010

The original color scheme for this project was bright blue and orange, mostly because they are contrasting colors that would stand out in the grocery store. With the redesign I’m a little less concerned about that, and willing to sacrifice some brightness for colors that make a little more sense. Here are the colors I’m going with for now:

Global Groceries color scheme

The blue and green to represent “global” is pretty literal, but I like it. Since there are so few blue foods (blueberries…), blue is not an appetizing color, and is typically not used for food packaging much. So, theoretically, the blue should stand out in a supermarket aisle. Here’s a zoomed out image of the work I did for the color scheme:

College Search Companion book cover

My roommates girlfriend wrote this book that helps people choose a college, and I designed the cover. I made a bunch of fake college logos for the illustration.

Sweet Home NH 2

Sweet Home New Hampshire final logo

Here is the final logo for Sweet Home New Hampshire. The client wanted to be more powerful as a header graphic, so I went with all caps for “New Hampshire”. The color changed because they changed their website to a maroon theme. Lets get out there and move some real estate, people.

Quick sketch with pencil, pens, and sharpie. I’m thinking about making this into something bigger.

Welcome to Boston

08/13/2010

At my job I’ve had to make a few maps of Boston neighborhoods for searches on real estate websites. I think thats where I got the idea for this poster. I drew this out by hand and cleaned it up in Illustrator.

Flipkey tshirt design

My friend’s company wanted a tshirt designed, so I came up with this. They’re a website that deals with vacation house rentals around the world, hence the keychains.

Messing around with some really creepy old pictures of people testing gas masks.

Favicon!

06/30/2010

Just made a favicon (aka the tiny logos that show up in your bookmarks or next to the address bar in your browser) for the site:

Designing something that small was a good change of pace. Here is what it looks like up close:

My logo didn’t look too good at 16×16 so I had to settle for a badass uppercase M. Good times.
